Internet Explorer version support

what versions of Internet Explorer should still be considered when build a website?

3 Answers

For most of my current large projects I support IE9+.

However, I do have some sites where I know that my target audience still uses IE8. So I have to provide some support for those users.

I always suggest that if you already have a site, look at your analytics / logs to determine what browser / OS combinations your target audience is using.

Additionally, look at the cost benefits of the dependencies that you wish to use. For some projects I chose to use Zurb Foundation as a framework. For these projects I know up-front that I will only support IE9+.

Thank you for the feedback.

Easy Question....hard answer :)

It really depends, like Rhian stated you have to consider your client, I am going to add expectations and budget to that as well. but to put it into a blanket answer most agencies will support back to IE9. I know for me I am starting to stop at IE10 for expected support, anything IE8 and earlier I charge extra for since it usually involves a completely separate style sheet just to support them.
