A bit lost on Ruby/ Ruby on Rails

Hello everyone! I am soon done with the "Rails Development" track and I feel a bit.. bored of someway. When I began with the track I was super exited. I heard that Ruby was a great language that was easy, fun, easy to get jobs etc. So I really dived into it. But now.. I feel that most of my knowledge is fading away. It might sound dumb, but it feels like I don't even know of to start a project anymore. And the worst part is that a couple of days before I couldn't stop learning, it was SO FUN!

Anyway.. I feel a bit lost atm, and was woundering if anyone could give me some tips. Like, what to do after the track, what kind of stuff I should focus on and so on. I feel like Ruby is a fun language. But, should I switch over to Javascript instead?

Hey Martin. I hear you. Doing projects of your own I think is where the real learning begins. Up until then it's just doing what is presented. For me, I felt like I learned a bit. Then when I tried to do something I had an idea for, I would find how little I really knew. But then looking stuff up and asking questions on the forums I would be able to get some stuff done. Still lots to learn though. Say, can you make an online appointment calendar for my business?

It's up to you! If you don't feel like using Ruby anymore you can switch over to JavaScript. I found that JavaScript is actually epic and the quantity of frameworks for JavaScript are multiplying these days. Ruby is flexible, though, so personally I like Ruby more. But really its up to you! If you can't decide, you can always do both, too!

Hope this helps! ~ Alex

Thanks for the reply John. But I wonder if you asking me to do an online appointment calendar FOR YOU or are yoou CHALLENGE ME to do one?

Either or Martin :D
