About backend languages.

Which back end language would you recommend learning after finishing the front end developer track on Treehouse?

1 Answer

Personally, I would recommend starting with PHP. Completing the PHP Development track will give you a good understanding of the principles of Object Oriented Programming as well as teach you how to interact with databases.

However there is no 'best' place to start. Ruby, Python, Java and Node.js are all popular choices.

The best thing to do is try a few of them out and see which one you like best. You could also look at what jobs are available in your area and see what languages they require.

Hope this helps :)

Just what I needed to know, specially for the links you left at the end of your answer. I'll just post this link in case someone sees this question. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pB0WvcxTbCA

Thank you so much, James!

No problem. The diagram in that video is awesome, thanks for sharing :)
