Add blog to portfolio site or make a stand along blog site?

What do you believe is better. Should I make a blog page for my portfolio site. Or should the blog be a website of its own? What do you believe is better?

Hi Trent. I think it depends on the content of the blog and if you think it fits in alongside your work portfolio.

Some people only blog about subjects which are related to their field of work. However I also think it helps to write about other things too just to show your personality a bit more and you're not just thinking of work all the time. Find that happy medium.

Or if you find you're blogging mostly about your favourite sport, or how drunk you got last Saturday night, maybe it's best kept separate ;-)

Hey Jon,

Thanks for the informative info. I planned on making my blog mostly about web stuff, like tutorials, and how a great website could help your business..ect.

I know tutorials will help other web designers, and it will help get my name in the web design community. But idk how may people who are looking for a website, will find tutorials useful. Thats why I feel like I should keep them separate, but I know blogs will help with SEO. So my decision is inconclusive :P
