Adding an icon to android app

I'm running Android Studio v 1.1.0 on Windows. When adding an icon to the app, I do not have a drawable folder in my res rile. Instead, I have a minimap file with the ic_launcher.png files in it. Is this the same thing? Can I just move the files I downloaded in the lesson into these folders? What are the .DS_Store files? Are these necessary to move as well?

You will need to add a drawable subfolder to your res directory. You can either do this in your IDE or by adding the folder directly in your OS. Android provides an extensive development resource guides to help you in creating and deploying Android applications.

Just add the "drawables-whateverDPI" folders into the res files. The new minimap folders are to put only the "ic_launcher" icon.
