19,451 PointsAdvanced Sass course outdated?
Dear treehouse personel,
I noticed at the start of the course that the sass version was different (3.3.10) and that to my knowledge 3.5 was released a year ago? With the release of Dart Sass 1.0.0 stable three months ago, Ruby Sass was also officially deprecated.
Is this course up to date? Or will I be bumping into a lot of deprecated syntax? Treehouse doesn't provide a timestamp with its courses so I hope someone can inform me before I spend hours absorbing out-dated content.
I checked the linkedIn of Dale Sande who co-produced this video with treehouse and it was originally published in 2014. In 'some' of the videos there is a time-stamp and it also reads 2014.
Kind regards, Chloé

231,198 PointsI don't know specifically about SASS, but in most software, when only the minor (second) number changes in a version int means the new software may have new features but is fully compatible with the previous release. If the change is severe enough to create incompatibility the major (first) number is supposed to change.

27,007 PointsChloé Claes — did you ever find the answer to this?
Steven is correct, but as Dart Sass is an entirely new build (currently on v. 1.14.1) it is indeed a major change, and I'm trying to figure out:
- Installation instructions, specifically using the command line; and
- If the Treehouse Sass-related content is still applicable / worth working through
Thanks in advance to anyone who can help with these questions! ^^

19,451 PointsHey kols,
I never got an answer and sadly I ended up going through the course. Then I rage-quit after seeing just to much deprecated code. They should take the course down imo, or state somewhere that it's outdated.
I have not seen any announcements about a new course, but I assume that team treehouse will eventually update their outdated course. Why else are we paying for this educational platform?
Lynda.com also offers some SASS courses dating from 2015/2016/2017 depending on the subject/course:
kind regards, Cc

27,007 PointsChloé Claes — gotcha, haha oh no! Well, thanks for letting me know; I'll go ahead and spend the time elsewhere, and will check out some of the other courses like the ones you mentioned. Thanks again for the input! Much appreciated!
