Wondering if it is the "completionist" in me or does it make sense to do some of the projects on subjects I am familiar with just to finish up the whole series?

Are you referring to one of our Learning Adventures?
We feel they are a great place to start to get job-ready in either of those areas.

Yes I plan on doing the ruby on rails and the ios/android app projects and I see the ruby starts out with the html basics. I am guessing that if you want you can just do the challenges and quizzes to speed up the process on subjects you already know.

Courses Plus Student 17,771 PointsI think she is asking "If I know beginner -> intermediate lever HTML already, should I go through the beginner/intermediate level lessons, or skip to the more advanced stuff I could use some work on" I started Treehouse with a pretty good foundation in HTML5 and CSS, but decided to go through most of the lessons from the beginning. They are a bit of a "review" if you do know a lot of the fundamentals, however you will pick up things you don't know every once in a while, and the tests force you to really solidify your complete understanding of the topics. They don't take too long to get through, especially if you already know whats being taught. I personally enjoy going through each one, but each person may have their own goals with what they want to learn through Treehouse.

I've decided to do them all and just test out of the areas I know =) Love it so far, can't wait to get into new stuff.

It's hard to know of your own blind spots, a structured course like the Treehouse deep dives help fill those gaps and tie things together in your brain.
IMHO the you get the most out of Treehouse when you go through the deep dives and then after put that knowledge to use in your own small project. It helps the brain build new pathways so you remember the information better.

2,406 PointsSteph, I went through the jQuery Plugins badge even though I've been working with jQuery plugins for a while. I thought I knew everything I needed to know, but I learned something new.
It was worth it for me.

5,795 PointsHi Scott & James,
Thanks for the replies, I agree. I am finding, especially after getting past the first basic tutorial little things here and there that are very helpful so I have started just going through the videos fully instead of just taking the test. I am glad I signed up and am excited about getting into new material.
Cheers!
