Alternatives to Coda

Thinking of buying a license for coda today, has anyone got any better alternatives to check out for mac?

Hey Paul, I'd say the closest thing would probably be Espresso or Dreamweaver. I'm not sure, but I think development for Espresso has halted for now. For the class Coda is in, there's not much like it right now. However, this question comes up a lot if you want to check out this thread. Brackets is somewhat similar to Coda, and of course, many of the other popular editors have FTP plugins.

There's a fairly new editor called TweakStyle . Somewhat a different set of tools, but you might check out the ones below also. Treehouse and many others on this forum do recommend learning how to code instead of depending on tools like these. Hope this helps you out.

Thanks Dustin,

Yeah I've anyway been coding for some years now anyway. But never bought a license for coda outside of the workplace.

Just been trying out Sublime text, which is pretty good.

Il have a look at Tweekstyle, thanks for the help.

Hi Paul,

Sublimetext all the way for me.
I bought a licence for Coda 2 about a week before trying out Sublime and haven't opened Coda since.
The plugins are amazing found here, I would suggest going to you tube and watching the tutorials or googling for video tutorials to see the real power Sublime has.

The first plugin to instal must be package control, it makes adding other plugins simple.

Hope this helps.
