AndEngine

Hi guys. I'm new to Android and just completed the Crystal Ball app. I really want to make a game, specifically a Galaga Style shooting Clone but with my own graphics and a few additions. I've heard of AndEngine being able to create great games and have been following a guide on another site which was great until I hit a road block (slide14) Not sure if I am allowed to post external links but here goes anyway in the hope someone can make a tutorial or point me in the proper direction ;) https://www.udemy.com/making-simple-2d-games-with-android/#/

I'm just lost to where I need to go next so, any help with AndEngine or a good "Beginners" guide to vertical/side scroller games in general would be extremely appreciated.

Many Thanks in advance

Dan

We don't cover games (yet), and I'm not a game programmer myself, so I can't help. If you're enjoying the tutorial so far, then hopefully you can get some help here or maybe on StackOverflow.

I am writing to recommend Unity for 2D games, though. It's a really powerful engine that runs on Android and iOS. They have good tutorials on their site, too.
