Android for Java developers

I have never written an Android app but I have 10 years of experience in Java so I don't need to learn Java the language. Is there any way that I can specify that and skip the Java part of the Android track without missing on Android details? Or are they just too linked in the material that I just have to look somewhere else for training?

Hi Sebastien,

At this point the material is too linked together. The first projects were conceived so that people with no experience could work through it. If you can stomach the Java review I think you will really enjoy the Android parts, though! The Java stuff is heavy in the beginning, especially for the Crystal Ball app, but quickly focuses on the Android APIs.

We do get this feedback and want to 1) allow the videos to be played at higher speeds, which should help get through review material, and 2) create alternative tracks through the content as we build out more and more projects.

Also, as a side note, I don't want to recommend competitors, but if you're interested, these books are too good to not mention (I have both of them, even though I'm not big on programming books). They are great for people who know Java and want to get into Android:
