Android studio learning track: follow old track or update?

I started this track a long time ago and discovered that many of the courses are removed for some reason.

should I continue working with the old course or should I use the updated version with much less contents?

An off topic question, I have a specific idea in mind that I am trying to code, it is a simple game app. Is android studio what I want to go for? or are there some other IDK I should be learning?

(I'm new to coding)

My recommendation is to proceed with the new track. I almost finished with the old track and got stuck in Data Persistence.

The Data Persistence section (the last section) of the old track is very poorly done and you will end up not being able to finish it. I think Treehouse is in the process of fixing it and it will take some time.

The new Activity Lifecycle section is very well done and should have been part of the old track. The new track does not contain Data Persistence yet.

if you have time i recoment you do the old and the new so that you appreciate the changes. those changes help you in future when you are on your own in the infield, so that you may ask relevant question and get full appreciation of the android development with Android Studio

Go through the entire new track first. I think some of the advanced courses from old tracks that haven't been transferred to new tracks are worth taking. Though as some things may have changed and many methods deprecated , you might need some extra help from stack exchange or the community here itself to do this projects in new versions of android studio. I myself managed to complete ribbit app with minor changes from eclipse to android studio.
