838 PointsAndroid Studio won't recognize my phone in order to test apps. How do I get it to work?
I have the moto x 2012 plugged in and in usb debugging mode, and I have tried checking both options of connection, MTP, and PTP. When I click the button to run the application, it gives me a window with the option to choose a running device, or launch emulator. My computer is too slow to run the emulator, but nothing shows up on the list of devices. I just want to run the app on my android phone. I am on a mac.

5,969 PointsHave you gone to the phones website and gotten the drivers installed on your machine? That is usually my issue. The link might help.

13,806 PointsDownloading the Google USB drivers that you need from your specific phone manufacturer's website will fix this. I was having an impossible time with it until I did this. For example, my phone is a Samsung 3. I went to the about phone area on settings and got the exact model of my phone. I plugged that into Samsung's website and it took me to a link for a USB installer.
I loaded up the installer, reset the ADB, and voila I could finally run the program on my phone.
Note: You will probably have to redo the debugging checkbox on your phone after doing this. Or it might bring up a popup asking if you want to, as it did with mine.

5,969 PointsHmm I am sad to hear that. I thought either my suggestion or Steve Bedard's could have been the culprit. The only thing else I might suggest is checking the selected answer on this stackoverflow question and see if you get the same thing. It is not much but it can help maybe find the issue an alternative solution. Good Luck.
