Another issue use del

I attempted to delete 8 from messy using del. I tested this with python 3.5 and it worked just fine, however it doesn't work when I submit my answer.

lists.py 
messy = [5, 2, 8, 1, 3]
del(messy[2])

Try removing the parentheses, as I said before in your previous question.

del messy[2]

The code challenge checker is pretty picky :)

Thanks for the reply, just learned del can be used as a keyword and a method, and I now know what that means :)

Both of your del issues are caused by the same thing, the answers you have received on your other post also apply for this challenge.
