1,451 PointsAre techdegrees going to replace Club Treehouse tracks? I lake the tracks, because they are efficient and inexpensive...
I hope the Club Treehouse tracks won't disappear. I don not have $399/month to pay for techdegrees, and the tracks are the best and most cost-effective way for me to learn web development and front-end development.
Could someone tell me that those will be maintained?

28,694 Pointsthe tech degrees are very new and very expensive (even compared to udacity). i'd be more worried about their ongoing survival.

Treehouse Moderator 91,253 PointsI don't see any reason why those courses will dissapear any time soon. The model of courses and tracks for a regular fee of $50 a month won't disappear. It's one of Treehouses core principals.
Treehouse just wants to establish itself as one of the core places to get an online degree as the market has shifted in that direction in recent years. But the courses and workshops (which make up most of the tech degrees) will always be here. :-)

29,248 PointsWhen I was looking at the techdegree info it talked about having your code reviewed and getting one-on-one feedback from the instructors. So they base the curriculum around the track, but they also add a lot of mentoring with the self-directed study for the extra cost of the tech degree. I don't think the tracks will disappear, but for those who struggle and want more help there is the tech degree to upgrade to.

28,694 PointsI think most people would balk at the expense, hence tracks are probably as much commitment as most users have.* However, you're never entirely sure about the economics of new services. Some online services focus on expansion and investment and then try to work out monetization (google, netflix, facebook). So there until a service has matured and turning a profit, there's always some risk that the business model is flawed. I wouldn't worry about it. I don't think it's likely and it's not something you can control. I'm worried about developing my skillset now. If lynda's good for intensive treatment of basics, then getting beyond a basic level would mean you're less exposed to subsequent changes to their services.
