General Discussion

Are there any sources outside of Treehouse that can help me understand Java Script?

I'm having trouble understanding Java Script, and I would like to know if there are other websites that can assist me. I went www.w3schools.com, but I didn't find that website helpful. I still want to practice coding with Treehouse. In fact, I want to do the Tech Degree pretty soon. I just can't seem to understand Java Script.

Where are you stuck? Codecademy has some supplemental stuff you might find helpful. I go there when I need a break.

In addition to John's suggestion of Codecademy, which is a very good resource (I actually started there), you might also want to add Khan Academy to your list of resources. Khan is very simplistic... Codecademy steps it up a bit... then Treehouse fills it all in.

Hi, I recommend starting a codewars account and tackling a few challenges each week. You can learn a lot from other peoples code solutions there. Also, keep the MDN guide nearby as a handy reference, and read Eloquent Javascript.

Codewars provides hands on challenges, MDN provides thorough tutorials, and Eloquent Javascript takes anyone by the hand through everything we need to know.

If books are your thing, Jon Duckett's Javascript & jQuery is a fantastic resource!
