General Discussion

Are tracks enough to get you a job with a programming language?

Has anyone gotten a job for a language after completing the track for it?

Hi Scott, While it's perfectly possible to get a job by completing a track, there's of course more to it. You have to practice the language to get better and create projects to show off your experience! I think Teamtreehouse Tech Degree is more suitable for you, as there are many projects and the intention to get you job-fit! My conclusion: You won't get a job only by completing a track, but if you are ambitious and create personal projects, there is indeed a great chance.

Hope this helps! Best Regards, Philip

Of course you don't have to do the tech degree to get experience doing projects.

It'd probably depend on your physical location also. A lot of IT jobs I've seen (I'm in the NE of Scotland) want a degree and experience. But being self-motivated is probably more important. As Philip says, being ambitious and having your own personal projects will showcase your skills far better than points on a CV.
