Python Python Basics (Retired) Putting the "Fun" Back in "Function" Functions

AttributeError: 'NoneType' object has no attribute 'lower'

When I run my code for Task 2, I am getting an AttributeError message. The code seems to work in Workspaces.

Could anyone help figure out why I am getting this error?

Thank you!

functions.py
# add_list([1, 2, 3]) should return 6
# summarize([1, 2, 3]) should return "The sum of [1, 2, 3] is 6."
# Note: both functions will only take *one* argument each.

def add_list(numList):
  total = 0
  for number in numList:
    total += number
  return total

def summarize(numList):
  strList = str(numList)
  print("The sum of {} is {}.".format(strList,add_list(numList)))

summarize() needs to return the string, not print() it.

Yup, that was it. Thank you for the help!

I don't see anything technically wrong with your code, so it works, but probably fails the tests for the assignment.

My guess is that the strList is unnecessary as format() takes care of that.
