Basic help - how to store returned value of the function variable?

I can't seem to find the stage where I can view how to store the variable, basic javascript, but I'm lost.

Q.Call the getYear function: store the returned value of the function in a new variable named yearToday.

function getYear() {
  var year = new Date().getFullYear();
  return year;
}

getYear ()
  var = yearToday;
  return yearToday;

Hey Keith,

You can store the result of a function in a variable like so:

var yearToday = getYear();

function getYear(){ var year = new Date().getFullYear(); return year; } var yearToday = getYear(); getYear();

This is how you might solve the problem.I hope it helped

Thankyou Alex, yes it did, it helped me understand it more although I had the answer from Jacob.

Thankyou! Going round in circles today, simple when looking at that, variable yearToday = the function!

Cheers Keith
