So I have finally developed my resume website. Its not fancy or anything I am just trying to build on what I have learned so far. Feel free to give some feedback on it. Also any ideas would be appreciated as well on ways to improve the site.

Are you trying to learn Java to use on the back-end (like Twitter does) or did you mean Javascript to use on the front end? Also are you trying to learn web design, web development or web design and development. I would re-word that to make it clear to any potential employers viewing your site. Also you should look into the fact that your container doesn't appear to extend the full length of the page.
I'll leave the design critique to others.

3,765 PointsI have some visual advice; don't have your text go all the way to either edge of the site/viewport. Make the <div> that contains your text to be a smaller percentage or pixel size of the site container/viewport. It'll be much easier to read.

3,683 PointsThank you for the feedback steve. As for the container issue I do not know as to why the container is not wrapping my content properly. As you can see my code indentation is not so great I am still trying to learn sublime text.. :( I have the container inside the body and just before the ending body ?

7,157 PointsSergio,
I applaud you for taking actions! I need to do that more. However, your resume left a lot to be desired.
I just took "Careers Foundations" course at Treehouse. I totally recommend you sit through it. You will learn the important aspects of portraying yourself professionally. Here are a few first steps. First, think who are your target employers? Startups? Big companies? Local business owners? People out there who need freelance help? Second, learn what they want in a potential employees and assess whether what they want match your strength. Go to websites of people who already work there. Observe, take notes, plan. Third, write a compelling resume that highlights the problems you have solved, the actions you took, and the outcome of such actions. Demonstrate that you are a good candidate for the position you want. Fourth, perfect your personal website. Look at other people's resume (I attached a wordpress template you can study below). Look around at websites of your coding heroes (I have a few to recommend) and just mimic them. If you feel like you are not ready for all these and you are still learning (I'm there with you), you may not be ready to attract employers yet. In such case, you need to learn more. Build smaller things. For example, build just a part of the page, not the whole page, etc. Make your page screams professional, one part at a time.
Hopefully this doesn't sound too harsh. I only spend time typing because I want to see you make it! If this seems too much to handle for now (due to other commitments you have) take a step back to rethink your goals and plans.

3,683 PointsThank you jan, I appreciate your feedback by all means do not feel bad about anything you have stated. I appreciate the feedback alot. As for the webpage it is just basic, I figured I would just build a skeleton for now and just build on it as I learn. This helps alot for me because I can apply what I have learned slowly and if I forget how something works I can just go back and re watch videos. Please do not feel bad for critiquing my site, I really appreciate the time taken and feedback given to help me further my knowledge.

Courses Plus Student 17,771 PointsDue to a general lack of time, I will only leave a few words of encouragement. My site started out much the same as yours, and I used my site as a place for me to apply what I learned from the Treehouse lessons. When you come across material that you find interesting, go apply it somewhere in your site. Even if it's something small, like a css box-shadow or border-radius syntax you pick up, go find somewhere in your site and apply that in a real-world context. I slowly put the pieces of my site together over many months, so it's all about assembling everything slowly over time as you learn.

4,293 PointsI agree with Jah, you would benefit greatly from watching the Career Foundations series.
On a side note, you have "Programmed the laser to cut specific parts" listed twice.

3,683 PointsThank you for the feedback patrick. As for the site it is something I just slapped together nothing final. To answer your question I am looking to learn more of the backend web development more than design.

12,216 PointsSo you are learning Java in addition to Javascript? Sorry, I want to make sure I understand exactly because if a potential employer sees "Java" and it's Javascript that you know, they are going to disqualify you for the job on the spot.
If you want to focus primarily on the back-end (good decision by the way, most people want to be designers which means a ton of competition) I would change it to "...trying to learn some web development using fill in whichever language you choose as your main language." You could then mention separately that in addition to development you have an awareness of design principles.
Obviously this is all just opinion on my part but I feel it would help make things a little more clear and specific.

3,683 PointsWell I am trying to learn javascript and possibly other languages as well. Thank you for your feed back. Again I don't claim to be great at this at all but any feedback is appreciated negative or positive. No one is born knowing all of this information we all just acquire it along the road of life.

12,216 PointsI hope you didn't take offense to what I was saying or think I was being negative or think I was scolding you for not knowing the difference between Java and Javascript. That wasn't my intention. I just want to make sure you are providing the correct information so a potential employer doesn't say "this guy doesn't know what he's talking about!" and pass you over for an opportunity all because you forgot to add "script" after Java.

3,683 PointsNo not at all patrick please don't take offense. Maybe I should have worded that differently because I could see as it could have been mistaken for some sarcasm. I truly thank you for your feedback.
