Bird moving before game start

Before I hit the space bar to start the game, the bird is already chasing after me. birdMovement.enabled = false set at Start in GameState.cs

OK, I figured out why this was happening:

  • In the Inspector, under Game Manager->Game State, I had Bird Movement set to 'None'.
  • After I dragged 'Bird' from the Hierarchy into the Bird Movement field [Changing it to Bird (Bird Movement)] it worked as expected, the bird no longer chases me before the game starts.

If anyone else runs into this, be sure to check 'Bird Movement' under the Game Manager.
