Branding souvenirs

I work at a souvenir shop in Weed, CA. We trademarked the words "Enjoy Weed". We started with screen printing T-shirts, now we have grinders, mugs, shot glasses, rolling papers, chocolate bars, and more with Enjoy Weed printed on them. However, even after watching these videos, I'm not sure where to start for coming up with a logo and possible slogan for us for brand identity. Because of obvious Federal reasons, we can't associate our brand with marijuana or we'll lose our trademark. I'm thinking of maybe associating our logo with a sketch of Mount Shasta since we're next to Mount Shasta and we are promoting our souvenir shop from the town of Weed. Any input on how to go about starting this project for the diverse items we sell?

Sounds like a pretty cool problem to solve. I feel the slogan Enjoy Weed is super cheeky and fun and simple and strong just on it own. There is also a sense of pride to it.

I would start by really brainstorming with people in the community and the souvenir shop to see what are the unique aspects of Weed, CA. Create a mood board with pictures of these things. Write down any kinds of ideas that pop in your head. Keep a notebook of ideas as they grow. How do residents and tourists enjoy the town, what do they do while there? What are some of the town's unique attractions? Animals native to that part of the region, etc.

But always keep that central idea in mind — "Enjoy Weed".

After about a couple weeks of really writing down all of the ideas see what is there.

Maybe you could do a series of t-shirt slogans that substitute different letters in the slogan, Enjoy Weed, with different icons as a substitute for a letter. Maybe something can substitute the letter O or the W.

Also, you can try pairing the slogan, Enjoy Weed, with different images of these unique aspects that you find in the brainstorming session described above. If you have any drawing skills maybe start sketching out ideas as they hit you. You can always find a designer who would be willing to refine the designs once you have the idea.

To sum it up, I feel that slogan is the place to start. There is a kernel of the idea in that, you just need to find it.

And I believe you can do so without getting in trouble with any laws.

Good luck.

Awesome, that gives me a start. Thank you very much. I was thinking about incorporating the town and scenery into it. This gives me more of a focus to work on.
