Your code is valid in Python 2, but not in Python 3 which is what is taught at Treehouse.

Python made some pretty big changes when they moved to version 3, one of which was that print which used to be a statement was changed to be a function instead. Functions have to be called using parenthesis, and the data you pass them has to go between those parenthesis.

Like this:

def loopy(items):
    # Code goes here
    for item in items:
        if item[0] == 'a':
            continue
        else:
            print(item)
