Build a Random Number Game problem. Frustrating!

I'm working through the above named in the JavaScript basics course, while building the exact same code as in the video in workspaces I, for a reason I can not understand, get the code to run the prompt. They are identical. Exactly. I'm sure of it. Why is this happening?

code here:

var randomNumber = Math.floor(Math.random() * 6 ) + 1);
var guess = prompt('I am thinking of a number between 1 and 6. What is it?');
if (parseInt(guess) === randomNumber )  {
  document.write('<p>You guessed the correct number!</p>');
} else {
  document.write('<p>Sorry. The number was ' + randomNumber + '</p>');
}

:point_right: It looks like your top line has mismatched parentheses.

You probably meant to write this:

var randomNumber = Math.floor((Math.random() * 6 ) + 1);

Yep, that worked.

Though that is def not how it's written in the video that accompanies it!

Thanks so much!

Your syntax is wrong. You don't need a closing parenthesis after the 1 on randomNumber. Also, you might consider wrapping all that code in a function.
