The code sequence in the tutorial

var randomNumber = getRandomNumber (10); ....... function getRandomNumber(upper) {..... } so within JavaScript, it is possible to call a function before defining it?

Hi there! Yes, it is possible within JavaScript. This is not true of all programming languages. We call this "hoisting". Here is some documentation from MDN on how this happens along with some examples.
