Call alert function in scripts tag

How do i add the aler(); function to the scripts tag?

Well, it has to go in between the start and end script tags. But you also have the wrong kind of script tag there.

The kind that you put code between won't have a "src" property in the open tag. That kind is used to load in an external file.

What I mean is that the kind of tags you would put code between don't have a "src". It would be like this:

// your code would go here
</script>
