Java Java Objects Harnessing the Power of Objects Overload Methods

Calling in the newer drive method by passing in a 1 for the default

I keep getting parseException

GoKart.java
class GoKart {
  public static final int MAX_BARS = 8;
  private String color;
  private int barCount;
  private int lapsDriven;

  public GoKart(String color) {
    this.color = color;
  }

  public String getColor() {
    return color;
  }
  public void charge() {
    barCount = MAX_BARS;
  }

  public boolean isBatteryEmpty() {
    return barCount == 0;
  }

  public boolean isFullyCharged() {
    return MAX_BARS == barCount;
  }

  public void drive(int lapsToFinish) {
    lapsDriven += lapsToFinish;
    barCount-= lapsDriven;

    public void drive(){
      lapsDriven = 1;
   }
}

Hi Dearce. There are 2 things to fix here.

First, you forgot to add a closing curly brace to your drive(int lapsToFinish) method.

Then, the instructions say: Create a new method named drive that accepts no arguments. It should call the newer drive method passing in a 1 for the default.

The first part, your method signature, is absolutely correct but let's focus on the second part (the method's body). Here you're giving the lapsDriven variable a value of 1, when you should just be calling the previous drive() method, passing in 1 : drive(1);

Hope that helps :)
