Can courses count for multiple tracks?

I have just recently started working in treehouse. I am actually a high school teacher and wanting to use this in some classes. If I have students complete the web design track, then once completed progress through the Front End Web Design track will they have to repeat the overlapping parts of the course? Their are quite a few common modules. I am trying to decide what is best for my students, I don't want them spending double time to complete these tasks. I see benefits to completing both tracks but if they are going to have to double up then I may let them complete the one they are most interested in.

Once you complete a part it is marked as completed in all the tracks it is in. Additionally any courses you complete in the library will be marked as completed in your track as well.

Excellent, that is great news. Thanks for your help. So it appears I could have them complete a whole track and then pull out certain additional portions such as intro to programming or Java for additional items for them as needed.

That is a great option! I am checking out the Java course now and other then the use of Console instead of System it is very similar to how I was taught. It is a very strong intro course.

hi Jason Hayes , when you're on a course then the progress will applied to all tracks where this course is included automatically. this is the default behaviour and also happens when you haven't even selected a track yet and you're just picking courses randomly that you're interested in.

so no worries about having to go through a course multiple times just to complete a track, that's not neccessary.

however sometimes watching a course (or video) more than once can definitely help or it's simply worthy - for example the sass basics course by Hampton Catlin I can highly recommend (your students will love it) - I watched it a ton of times just because it's awesome (best course I've ever seen on any site) ;)

hope that helps and have a nice day ;)

Thank you for the info. I will definitely be pulling some additional courses out for students from other tracks that I feel they can benefit from. I am brand new to coding and am learning very quickly using these videos. I do agree though that watching the videos more than once has helped me remember the material much better to use later. I also like the fact that you build your own as you move throughout the video. Amazing product.
