Can I learn java as my first language, since I don't have any previous experience or should I start with something else

Hey there everyone. I'm super excited to start my journey here as a future app developer. As I started my journey here at teamtreehous (yesterday that is), I went straight to the Java course with no previous experience in coding / programming. Right of the bat the lines of code were pretty confusing, mainly because I couldn't grasp the logic behind the structure of the language. Having said that, my question is, should I start with Java as my first programming language or do I need to learn certain basics in coding before that? I'm afraid that without certain basics I can get easily discourage.

Thanks guys :)

Java is an excellent language to start with, and the beginners courses on TTH is excellent. It is not really hard to learn, but it is a very large language and takes lots time to master. With Java you will get to learn object oriented programming (OOP) from the beginning. I started with PHP, and to get the hang of programming in objects took a while since you don't really have to use that structure with PHP. But i would suggest you get some basic knowledge in a markup language like HTML before you start the "real" programming.

yeah in my opinion just skip html and just go for java you can go for an alternative similar to jave like c# too c# is also awesome
