WordPress How to Make a Website with WordPress Installing WordPress Domain Names, Hosting, and WordPress

Can i use my existing hosting company to do this lesson? I already have a domain name and website with them.

I am using Just Host.com for my personal website. I am within a small budget for this and don't want to spend more money if I don't have to. Or can i do this lesson with Mamp?

You can use mamp or you can use your own webhost. If it's shared webhosting if it supports php and mysql. You should be able to do this in no problem. The script will be in the wordpress folder. The tricky part is connecting to the mysql database.

You can also follow along using mamp. It's really up to you.

What I've done in the past is to install Wordpress in a folder on my site. So, for example, www.example.com/wp. You can access and design the site from there. Then, when it's time to make it the main site, follow these instructions to make Wordpress serve from your root directory:

Use the section entitled "Using a pre-existing subdirectory install". Just be sure to replace their example "wordpress" folder with whatever you named your folder.
