Can someone help me understand, why my code is not working?

var list = document.getElementsByTagName('ul')[0];

list.addEventListener('click', function(e) {
  if (e.target.tagName == 'BUTTON') {
    var button = document.getElementByTagName('button');
    var p = button.previousElementSibling;
    p.className ='highlight';
  }
});
app.js
var list = document.getElementsByTagName('ul')[0];

list.addEventListener('click', function(e) {
  if (e.target.tagName == 'BUTTON') {

  }
});
index.html

            </ul>
        </section>

You're close, but you don't need to try to identify the button yourself. The challenge code has already filtered the button as "e.target".
