Can Team Treehouse issue a 1098-T form, so I can deduct my membership fees from my taxes?

I have been entering my membership fees as business expenses. But I think I can save more on my taxes if I Treehouse can issue me a 1098-T form. Is this possible?

Hi Peter,

With a question of this importance I would recommend you contact Treehouse support just to make sure you get the correct response.

Tuition-paying students at eligible colleges or other post-secondary institutions should receive a copy of Internal Revenue Service Form 1098-T from their school each year. Eligible institutions include most colleges, universities, and vocational schools that are eligible to participate in the Department of Education’s student aid programs.

It would seem since Treehouse has stated elsewhere that they are not an accredited school* then they would not to be able to issue a 1098-T.

That being said, I neither work for Treehouse nor am I qualified to provide tax advice so you should probably email help@teamtreehouse.com for an official answer.
