Can't change directory to treehouse/

I have been following the Installing a Ruby Development Environment video but at the end of the video when it says to type cd treehouse/, I got the following response in the terminal

-bash: cd: treehouse/: No such file or directory

How do I do it so that I can change directory to treehouse/?

Mine wasn't green either. That's just something they configured to make the prompt color green. It's been a while since I've worked in the console, so I can't remember right now how to do it, but it's nothing to worry about for your lessons. :)

If you really want to, just google 'customizing command prompt'

Hey kabir,

One, you don't actually need to put the ending slash in the command, but that's not the problem here.

If I remember this course correctly, you have to make the directory first, before you can switch to it. (Something I don't think they mention)

So, from your home directory in the cmd line, type mkdir treehouse and hit enter.

You can check that it was created with ls

After that, you can switch to it with the command you have.

Hope this helps. Keep Coding! :)

Thanks, Jason! I later figured it out but thanks anyway. I also noticed that all the instructor's treehouse after changing to it, the text is in color green but mine isn't. What's the reason for that?
