Can't commit my changes

I try to commit my changes when doing along the video, but I get error. Here it is: Git failed with a fatal error. error: open("src/.vs/Treehouse.FitnessFrog/v16/Server/sqlite3/db.lock"): Permission denied fatal: Unable to process path src/.vs/Treehouse.FitnessFrog/v16/Server/sqlite3/db.lock I don't know how to fix it. Please help me. Thank you !

My problem was totally fixed but I don't understand why we have to ignore those files. Can you explain that for me ? (Sorry for my bad English)
