15,876 Pointscant open .htaccess in Dreamweaver
Just started working on "Cleaning URLs with Rewrite Rules" and first video asks to create .htaccess file (which id did). However, Dreamwever errors with "Can't find valid editor for this file extension. ... Suggestions?

10,218 PointsYeah I totally understand! but trust me, once you move on, you will be thankful. Sublime Text 2 has much more plugins, styles, and useful features than Dreamweaver.

All of the tutorials here use Sublime Text 2. I think that would be a good route to go. I used to use dreamweaver and got random errors like this alot. I switched to sublime text 2, havent had an error since.

28,149 PointsMac or PC? I use dreamweaver for the coding (shame on me I know) but I usually use notepad on a PC to write a .htaccess file, or for Mac I downloaded a free app called text wrangler which does .htaccess files just fine.
