CERTICATION

Today,People require some proof whether the person has some existing knowledge in the field or not and indeed ask for some certificate to prove themselves.

As there are so many courses,I would like to request the Admin staff to provide a certification course where we can take a test on particular course say web development for about an hour and proof hour knowledge

And if we are able to pass the certificate we should be awarded with a certificate.

not really, if you look at most jobs in the field, they dont require any sort of certification, they dont even require a university degree

your portfolio is your certification, they need to see what you can do and if it fits their needs

I can pass any test and get certification, that doesnt mean I can actually get the job done

In India they do Ask for it!

thats too bad

maybe you can actually show them your teamtreehouse profile with all your achievements? cause im assuming that implementing an evaluation and certification system will take some time

what you can also do is join a freelancer site e.g. freelancer.com. you can pay to take various test e.g. in html, php, javascript etc and then the certification is added to your public profile so that it is accessible by prospective employers

also there are sites like coursera.com were you can actually complete programming courses and get certificates for free

The W3C does offer certification W3 Schools. There is a charge for each test, but it's a good option, and something internationally recognized.

My understanding was that W3 School isn't internationally recognised and their documentation for developers was poor. So don't be wasting my money on W3 Schools.

If anything, developers should NOT be using W3Schools.

If you're looking for documentation please use - www.webplatform.org

Paying twice doesn't make sense! :(

It's not unusual to have to pay for certification/licences in many fields, at least in the US, which often have to be renewed every few years.

I don't see it as paying twice. You're paying to learn a skill, and then paying for an independently rated certification. It's investing in your future.
