Use string interpolation like this...

let firstValue = 2

let secondValue = 4

let product = firstValue * secondValue

let output = "The product of (firstValue) times (secondValue) is (product)"

should have \ (firstValue)
\ (secondValue) and \ (product)

didnt show up in my answer for whatever reason

To follow up on Alexander's point, the correct use of string interpolation is referenced in code below. Also, if you have Xcode installed on your machine, doing the exercises in Xcode and then copying/pasting into the Treehouse editor is a MUCH better way of working and learning

let firstThing = "the first thing"
let secondThing = "the second thing"

let sentence = "This is \(firstThing) and here is \(secondThing)"
