Chance to go back to college?

I have the chance to go back to college these next few years. Due to my current income situation my tuition will basically be free. It is an online graphic design degree(BS with an emphasis in web and digital media) through an accredited school. I already have an associates degree in computer science and an object oriented programming certificate I can transfer. I already know illustrator, html, css and javascript thanks to treehouse so most of the courses would be a cake walk. I am also building a portfolio and plan on applying to jobs.

I am currently 24 so I will be 25-26 when I complete this degree. I know a degree isn't all that important in web design but in graphic design it is. Should I take this opportunity? I might never have the chance to go back to school free. How would this benefit me? I plan on continuing treehouse and going ahead with my portfolio and because the degree is hybrid and mainly online it won't interfere with my day to day life too much.

What do you think?

If i were you i would defiantly jump on the opportunity. Especially for a free ride. The main way that i think it will benefit you is it will show that you have that extra degree saying you know that one extra skill. I think that extra degree will just get you that one step closer to getting your foot in the door because you will have that extra step up that others might not have.

That is the way that i look at it because im currently going to school online my self in software development and learning on here as well and i really think its something that you should have and is worth putting the time into at least for me.

Also check out this pod cast by Jhon sonmez he answers something slightly similar to what you are asking in my opinion. So check it out if you like. http://simpleprogrammer.com/podcasts/

The pod cast name it self is Simple Programmer Podcast Is Paying for Developer Bootcamp Worth It? Hope fully this helps out a bit.
