disemvowel.py
def disemvowel(word):
    try:
        word.remove("a", "e", "i", "o", "u", "A", "E", "I", "O", "U")
        except :ValueError
            pass
    return word

I think ValueError would precede the colon such as except ValueError. I do not think .remove() will work on string. You will want to treat your word like a list when it is time to use remove.
