Choosing a tech degree

Hi I'm Sarah and totally new to this type of school. I want to be able to have a career in the tech field and feel confident in what I do. I have recently been looking at data analysis and python developer and interested in both. I do find python a little bit easier to comprehend but was just wondering if I should go through with data analysis and possibly add python into my learning. I have no past experience in tech like fields but truly know I can pick it up.

Hey there Sarah Schaeffer !

If you think you would be more interested in working with Data, then I would highly recommend the Data Analysis Techdegree. I'm currently taking it myself and it goes very in depth with a lot of tools and ways to work with and present data.

The Python Techdegree was a lot of fun for me personally. You get a great foundation for the language and build some cool things with it and the final project was using it to create a functioning Web portfolio for yourself. There is a lot of overlap with the beginning Python content between the Python / Data Analysis Techdegree, so if working with Data interests you more than learning to program, you'll still get a lot of info on Python in the DA Techdegree as well.

The Front-End Web Development Techdegree is where I started as I was interested mainly in Web Development and styling pages / elements. This is a fantastic track if you're interested in creating, styling and understanding websites as a whole.

The Full Stack JavaScript Techdegree is what I did 2nd and it was a great follow up to the FEWD Techdegree. You really dive deeper into JavaScript which is an extremely prominent language regarding Web Development. You learn front end and back end and gain a LOT of great knowledge throughout.

Finally, the UX Design Techdegree is the only one I haven't done that much in. It does give you a great understanding of why design patterns are important, what people see / do / feel when using a website or app and even brings you a lot of info of how it would be to work on a design team in the real world. I'm sure there is a LOT more involved that I hadn't experienced in this Techdegree yet of course but that was what I experienced just in the first unit!

I hope this helps you out a bit
