Android Build an Interactive Story App (Retired) Intents and Multiple Activities Starting a New Activity

class can not be applied to type.

I am doing exactly the same as the example but it is giving message that the flightStart method can not be applied to type and gives error at flightStart(intent); I am drawing a complete blank to this.

LaunchActivity.java 
import android.content.Intent;
import android.os.Bundle;
import android.view.View;
import android.widget.Button;

public class LaunchActivity extends Activity {

  public Button mLaunchButton;
  private void flightStart()
        {
          Intent intent = new Intent(this, FlightActivity.class);
          flightStart(intent);
        };

  @Override
  protected void onCreate(Bundle savedInstanceState) {
    super.onCreate(savedInstanceState);
    setContentView(R.layout.activity_launch);

    mLaunchButton = (Button)findViewById(R.id.launchButton);
    mLaunchButton.setOnClickListener(new View.OnClickListener() {
      @Override
      public void onClick(View v) {
        // Add your code in here!
        flightStart();
      }
    });
  }
}

All it is asking you is to from one activity to another. So when you click the button in the activity you are and you want to go to the second activity, In android, it can be done using Intent object.

Intent intent = new Intent(LaunchActivity.this, FlightActivity.class); // now it is ready to go from LaunchActivity to FlightActivity class.

startActivity(intent); //this start the activity.
