Oh the color code was fine but it was just that we shouldn't have had a "/". Try this:

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
<RelativeLayout xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android"
                android:layout_width="match_parent"
                android:layout_height="match_parent"
                android:background="#fff092b0" >

<TextView
android:id="@+id/textView1"
android:layout_width="wrap_content"
android:layout_height="wrap_content"
android:layout_centerHorizontal="true"
android:layout_centerVertical="true"
android:text="Treehouse loves me!"
android:textSize="72sp"
android:textColor="@android:color/white" />
    </RelativeLayout>

android:background="@android:color#fff092b0/" >

should be

android:background="#fff092b0" />

this isn't working

it looks like: android:background="#fff092b0" />

I tested out the code on a blank project and it is working completely fine. can you post your entire current xml code

<RelativeLayout xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android" android:layout_width="match_parent" android:layout_height="match_parent" android:background="#fff092b0" />

<TextView android:id="@+id/textView1" android:layout_width="wrap_content" android:layout_height="wrap_content" android:layout_centerHorizontal="true" android:layout_centerVertical="true" android:text="Treehouse loves me!" android:textSize="72sp" android:textColor="@android:color/white" /> </RelativeLayout>

android:background="#fff092b0" />

should be

android:background="#fff092b0" >

also try just "#f092b0" w/o the leading "ff"
