I'm using windows 7, instead of windows command prompt i used Git Shell. its working fine for me.

what do you mean by using the "Git Shell"?

***never mind I finally got it. thank you :)

Hello Melissa,

I got a similar message on my OSX Mac because I had not properly installed Git. If typing git by itself on teh command line gives a similar message, I think it means it wasn't properly or completely installed.

Have you tried re-installing Git? Once I re-downloaded and re-installed, everything worked properly on my Mac.

Hope this helps.
