Ruby

Complete beginner. Having trouble with Ruby cmd

I am a beginner to programming. I'm on the Ruby on Rails course (using Windows) and I'm trying to follow the instructions for creating the treebook project but each time I try to follow the instructor I get a message saying "is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file." Please let me know if there is anything that could help me out. Thanks!

If you are on Windows, you can skip the "rvm use" command. Try following along after that and let us know if it works.

I didn't realize that there were additional notes for Windows under the video. Thank you! It worked. I am now on the step where you type in "generate scaffold status name:string content:text". It generated everything but when I open Sublime Text 2 I can't seem to view any of the content like you see in the video. I can't find my treebook folder anywhere. I will try it again but I've followed everything step by step. Is there something I'm missing?

The treebook folder should be located wherever you ran the command in the command prompt. So if you were in the "My Documents" folder, treebook would be located there. Try looking around in Windows Explorer to see if you can find it. Then drag it in to sublime text from the windows explorer or do "File" and then "Open" in Sublime Text.

If you are having trouble finding your folder try searching.

Here's a tutorial on searching in Windows 7 if you are having trouble

Thank you all! I have found it and will proceed with the instructions. I really appreciate all the help!
