This is how it should look like:

function getRandom( upper ) {
   return Math.floor(Math.random() * upper) + 1;
}
getRandom(12);

It seems like you answered it, with getRandom(12)

Youre called that function and passing 12 into it as argument.

but I am getting bummer message.....

Do you have a space between getRandom and (12)? If so remove it.
