HI guys. Do i need high specs pc in order for android studio to run faster? I am running HP i53230 2.60Ghz / 4gb ram / 64bit win8. Or Ben's unit is far higher in specs than mine that's why in the video it is faster to open the device emulator.Or if there is a setting I need to fix? any help would be appreciated,

What I would recommend is doing an Alt+Ctrl+Del whilst running Android Studio and taking a look at the CPU/Memory. If one is near the limit then, that will be the problem :)

I think i5 and 2.60Ghz is not bad but it depends what you got in your pc and plus if the android app is like quite heavy or something , it may tae more time since in treehouse they probabily have one of the best iMacs i guess.

14,483 PointsYour specs are just fine. Though a simple 4GB upgrade i.e. boosting to 8GB of RAM will be great. Android Studio does consume memory and when coupled with an emulator it might slow down.
As an alternative to the Android emulator I would suggest you could use the Geny Motion emulator. Its really simple to set up and has lesser lags as compared to the default emulator by android. It's one time download an might just boost your speed.

Also try and open less simultaneous applications when working with Android Studio
Hope this helps
