Confused

I don't understand what while loops are used for or when to put repeat. Nor do I understand the reason why he will sometimes put a += or < symbol with 1. Can someone please explain all of this to me.

Quick non-answer. I get your point. For the most part, you won't have to use while loops. I never had to use them until recently, and the only reason I used them was because I was trying to squeeze every little bit of performance of of my program as possible (while loops are just a bit faster then for loops).

Now I understand that while loops are faster than for loops, but I don't understand the format of it. Could you break it down for me? Thanks!
