Create a genres table called "t_genres" with an auto incrementing primary key called "pk_id" and a unique column .......

Whats wrong with below statement w.r.t question.

CREATE TABLE t_genres (pk_id INTEGER AUTO_INCREMENT PRIMARY_KEY , uk_name VARCHAR(45) NOT NULL UNIQUE KEY );

You forgot to add NOT NULL to the pk_id.

CREATE TABLE t_genres ( pk_id INTEGER NOT NULL AUTO_INCREMENT PRIMARY KEY , uk_name VARCHAR(45) NOT NULL UNIQUE KEY);

I know this is a few days old, but just in case it never got resolved...

Look at your "PRIMARY_KEY" keyword. It might be just a simple syntax error ;)
