Create a new int variable that is named answer. Store the integer version of answerToLife in it.

I don't know what I am doing wrong here, it says the error is on the dot.

ParsingInts.java 
String answerToLife = "42";
int answer = Integer.parseint("42");

You've just made a typo. The parseInt comes with a capital I.

int answer = Integer.parseInt("42"); // instead of parseint

Try to pay attention to details, it will pay off in a huge way while becoming a programmer. :)

This notation is called "lower-camel-case" or "hungarian notation". Look it up for more details, and happy coding!
