Creating a CSS Color Scheme Application

Hello everyone!

I really enjoy selecting colors for designing websites, but I am constantly using color palette tools from other providers. I am interested in designing my own color palette selector to allow users to choose the colors they wish to use. I feel this is a great tool to build for others, but I am looking forward to learning how such an application is built. I believe that Javascript will be used for the functionality, but I'm a little stuck on getting started. Can anyone give me some tips or resources for learning to how create such an application? I have listed some inspiring color palette tools below to give you an idea of the direction for the project :) Thanks in advance for any insight!

What I use is https://kuler.adobe.com. It is sort of re-creating the wheel, but if you do create something post it here. I'd love to check it out.

Dave, Thanks for sharing! That's exactly what I want to do. I want to learn how to recreate the wheel, spend some time exploring and studying the wheel, and then dish out a new and improved wheel! The task may be past my knowledge currently, but it's something I have been wanting to learn how to make. I believe I might need to use Node.js, but I'm still working towards learning intermediate Javascript right now.
