4,859 Pointscreating a form to populate a webpage template
I understand this is kind of a broad question here...but bear with me and thanks in advance for your time. for the website I am trying to create I require the ability, whereby a portion of the users will be able to upload media files (mp3 and .mov). these media files will then populate a webpage template that I have created and in turn this completed template will then serve as a base webpage for each of my individual users. so basically I need to create a webpage on my site with a form that will allow users to login and upload their files to their personal page on the site. maybe I am over complicating my explanation, but I guess in theory what I need is very similar to dozens of stuff out there like soundcloud, youtube and so forth that host types of personal media files for users. I am not asking how to do this necessarily, but in what direction I want to point myself to learn how to do this...what courses I should be looking at. I am having a hard time wrapping my head around where to go next to design a form for the users that will get the info from that form into the users pages. I've gone through the basic html and css classes which have been great to get me started on building and styling my template, but while I am doing that I want to start learning what I need to for the next steps. thx!

31,709 PointsSeth, it sound's like you are trying to create a basic Content Management System, like WordPress or Drupal. You could either look into using an existing CMS or you could build your own. I recommend using an existing one since it will save time and effort. Building a custom CMS if difficult, however, if that's the route you want to go then you will need to start doing a lot of research. I would start by researching the basic components of a CMS. Then I would make a list of the components you think you might need and research those to come up with a plan. Best of Luck.
